Brett Conrad is a gift planning coordinator in the Department of Development. As a gift planning coordinator, Brett proactively engages both warm prospects and existing members of The Mayo Legacy and the Doctors Mayo Society to discuss expanding their philanthropic support of Mayo Clinic via estate and bequest giving.

Brett began his career with Mayo Clinic’s Department of Development in 2019, starting as a Benefactor Service Associate within the Annual/Mid-Level Giving Program.

Brett earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theater and Psychology at Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. He is currently working towards earning his Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota — Duluth.

Brett lives in Rochester, Minnesota, with his wife, Kayley, and their three-year-old son, Theodore (they call him “Teddy” for short).

Kevin B. Melvin, J.D., has been on staff at Mayo Clinic since 1991. He serves as legal counsel dedicated to the Department of Development, where he manages and advises on legal issues impacting charitable activities at Mayo Clinic. In addition, Mr. Melvin serves as associate chair of gift planning for the Department of Development, where he manages the Office of Gift Planning team responsible for working with benefactors on planned giving and complex assets, which comprised 34% of Mayo Clinic’s $3 billion campaign.

Mr. Melvin received his J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and has been a licensed attorney since 2006. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in management from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Mr. Melvin is a member of the Olmsted County Bar Association and Minnesota State Bar Association and is past president of the Rochester Estate Planning Council. He has presented “Top Fundraising Legal and Tax Traps for Tax-Exempts” and “Non-Profit Tax Strategies” at the National Business Institute via live teleconference. Mr. Melvin employs an entrepreneurial spirit to finding creative and tax-efficient gifting methods for benefactors to reach their personal philanthropic goals in order to fuel innovation at Mayo Clinic and bring new treatments to the bedside of the patient.

Mr. Melvin’s volunteer activities include Wills for Heroes, Rochester A Better Chance, and LegalCORPS Business Law Clinic. He and his wife have two young children and enjoy hiking and skiing.

Andrew (Andy) P. Tiebert, CPA, CFP®, is the director of gift planning in the Office of Gift Planning, Department of Development at Mayo Clinic and is based in the West Region in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In his role at Mayo Clinic, Mr. Tiebert supervises and coaches gift planning officers on strategy and execution to secure bequests, split-interest gift arrangements and gifts of complex assets. In addition, Mr. Tiebert supervises and advises gift planning colleagues responsible for marketing strategy and management of The Mayo Legacy recognition program, oversees gift planning education and training for frontline fundraisers, and provides philanthropic technical expertise to fundraisers and benefactors for the achievement of philanthropic goals to establish an enduring legacy at Mayo Clinic.

Prior to joining Mayo Clinic in March 2020, Mr. Tiebert served on the leadership team of Children’s Minnesota Foundation as vice president, and previously he served as vice president of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Foundation. Earlier in his career, Mr. Tiebert held leadership roles at the churchwide offices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Foundation, as well as at Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.

Mr. Tiebert’s professional affiliations have included serving on the Legacy Advancement Steering Committee for The Woodmark Group, a not-for-profit organization whose members are premier children’s hospitals in the United States and Canada. He was also a board member of the Chicago Council on Planned Giving, where he served as chair of its Leave A Legacy initiative in the Chicagoland region.

Mr. Tiebert earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Valparaiso University, and he is a certified public accountant and certified financial planner.

Wendy J. Frost, CAP® is Associate Director of Gift Planning in the Department of Development at Mayo Clinic. As a member of the Office of Gift Planning, Ms. Frost has the privilege of helping people achieve their philanthropic goals by identifying strategic, creative and tax-advantaged gift solutions.

A Minnesota native, Ms. Frost earned the Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, magna cum laude, from the University of North Dakota. She joined Mayo Clinic in 2002 and has served in a number of positions, including financial representative, patient relations specialist and development associate.

In her role as Associate Director of Gift Planning, Ms. Frost offers gift expertise in such areas as bequests, beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, donor advised funds, charitable IRA rollovers and gifting real estate. She strives to understand the unique life story and the values that are important to each person and provides benefactors the highest level of service and dedication in a warm and caring manner.

Ms. Frost is committed to working with benefactors and their professional advisors to ensure they find the charitable arrangements that best meet their wishes and needs.

Michael (Mike) Gozola has been on staff at Mayo Clinic since 2015. He serves as a legal specialist dedicated to the Department of Development, where he co-manages its estate resolution program and supports the general legal needs of the department, including gift planning and taxation, litigation, gift agreements, compliance, privacy and contracts.

Mike's primary objectives include providing the highest level of customer service to his clients and honoring the wishes of Mayo Clinic's benefactors through careful practice and protection of their wishes outlined in their estate gifts.

Michael (Mike) Gozola has been on staff at Mayo Clinic since 2015 and serves as a Sr. Gift Planning Administrator in the Department of Development. Mike manages the Gift Administration team and its activities, including support for gifts of real estate, charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities, donor advised funds, and more. He additionally supports the legal needs of the department including estate resolution, gift and grant agreements, compliance, privacy/data security, and contracts.

Mr. Gozola received his J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and has been a licensed attorney in the state of Minnesota since 2014. Mike resides in his hometown of Rochester, Minnesota.

Jessica (Jess) L. Nelson LeMay, M.S., is a gift planning administrator in the Department of Development. As a gift planning administrator, Ms. Nelson LeMay oversees the programmatic aspects of The Mayo Legacy and the Doctors Mayo Society. She works with grateful benefactors to determine the best fit for their philanthropic giving.

Ms. Nelson LeMay began her career with Mayo Clinic in 2000 and has been with the Department of Development since 2007. She moved into the Office of Gift Planning in June 2017.

Ms. Nelson LeMay earned her Bachelor of Arts in business administration at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota, She completed her Master of Science in project management at Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Ms. Nelson LeMay and her husband, Todd, split their time between Rochester and Ham Lake, Minnesota with their Vizsla pup, Piper.

Karen L. Piel, J.D., CFRE, is assistant director of gift planning in the Office of Gift Planning, Department of Development at Mayo Clinic. In this role, Ms. Piel helps people achieve their philanthropic goals by identifying strategic, creative and tax-advantaged gift solutions. She offers gift expertise in areas such as bequests, beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, donor advised funds, charitable IRA rollovers and gifting real estate.

Ms. Piel began her career as an estate planning attorney in private practice. In 2006, she transitioned to a career in charitable gift planning, working with Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation in Marshfield, Wisconsin, before joining Mayo Clinic in 2022. She was a faculty member for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) Madison Institute for 10 years, sharing her knowledge of planned giving with colleagues throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Ms. Piel received a bachelor of business administration in accounting and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Ms. Piel resides in central Wisconsin with her husband, Mike. She is active in her community, having served on several local government boards and committees in addition to being involved in various charitable and volunteer efforts. Ms. Piel enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading and taking long walks with her dogs.

Delinda L. Rood is assistant director of gift planning in the Department of Development at Mayo Clinic. In this role, Ms. Rood helps people achieve their philanthropic goals by identifying strategic, creative and tax-advantaged gift solutions. With her strong relationship-building skills, she offers gift expertise in such areas as bequests, beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, donor advised funds, charitable IRA rollovers and gifting real estate.

Ms. Rood has worked as a professional fundraiser for more than 25 years, with a majority of that time in higher education. For much of her career she worked in athletics fundraising at various institutions, including North Dakota State University; University of Nebraska–Lincoln; Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois; and the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. Most recently, Ms. Rood worked at InFaith Community Foundation, a partner of Thrivent Financial, as a charitable gift planner, assisting benefactors, faith-based organizations and financial advisors with donor advised funds, organizational endowment funds and a plethora of planned giving options.

A native of Brainerd, Minnesota, Ms. Rood was inducted into her high school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 for her achievements as a three-sport athlete in tennis, basketball and golf. She is a sports enthusiast, an active member with her church, and a member of the contemporary worship band His Own. Ms. Rood resides in Rosemount, Minnesota, with her husband, Marc, and daughter, Molly.

Ms. Rood graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She earned her Masters of Education degree at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities.

Gregory N. Snider, J.D., CFP®, is a gift planning officer in the Office of Gift Planning, Department of Development at Mayo Clinic. Mr. Snider has a strong focus on customer service and helping individuals achieve their philanthropic goals, objectives and passions by identifying strategic, creative and tax-advantaged gift solutions.

As a gift planning officer, Mr. Snider leverages his knowledge and experience in guiding benefactors to the gift strategies that best fit their unique situation. These strategies could include estate bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts, real estate and complex gifts, or simple beneficiary designations.

For more than 10 years Mr. Snider has helped high net worth clients achieve their financial, estate and philanthropic planning goals. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic, he had served as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley and also as a financial planning analyst with Wells Fargo Private Bank.

Mr. Snider has an undergraduate degree in finance and business administration. He is a graduate of William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is a licensed attorney. In addition, he is a certified financial planner and chartered financial consultant.

Mr. Snider is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and has been a classroom instructor for Community Education. He also volunteers with other local organizations and is a coach for youth football, basketball and lacrosse.

Brandon Stenseth joined Mayo Clinic in 2015. He currently serves as a senior gift planning administrator in the Department of Development. He supports the Department of Development with Office of Gift Planning operations and marketing, The Mayo Legacy, and Doctors Mayo Society. Brandon has a background working with gifts of real estate, charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, and complex assets. Brandon began his career at Mayo Clinic working in the Legal Department supporting the Department of Development on estate gifts and a variety of legal review matters.

Brandon earned his J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2014. He earned a Bachelor of Science in finance at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Brandon is originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
